Location: Dulce, New Mexico (Jicarilla Service Unit)
Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week)
Core Responsibilities
Phlebotomy: Assist the laboratory with the collection of blood samples via venipuncture or capillary specimen collection.
Specimen Processing: Utilize general knowledge of biological specimen processing, including blood separation and preparation for referral laboratory transport.
Patient Intake: Greet patients professionally and enter test requests accurately into the RPMS computer systems.
Universal Precautions: Apply knowledge of universal precautions and physiology to identify potentially incompatible or erroneous laboratory results caused by improper samples.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED is the minimum, but postsecondary certificates or associate degrees in science fields are highly preferred.
Certifications: AMT Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (CMLA), ASCP Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA).
Experience: Some roles require 6 months to 1 year of clinical laboratory experience.
Skills: Proficiency in basic lab equipment, computer skills, safety protocols, and knowledge of biology/chemistry.
