- As a Designer III, your impact comes from owning production quality, applying stronger technical judgment, and leading coordination across disciplines. You contribute in three key ways:

- You operate at a trajectory-defining level, taking accountability for discipline-specific deliverables while building the depth required to intentionally transition into either the Associate (engineering) or Senior BIM Specialist (production) path.

What Success in this Position Looks Like
- You deliver accurate, fully coordinated Revit models, drawings, and documentation with minimal oversight.
- You lead model health management, ensuring links, worksets, families, warnings, view templates, and model organization comply with TEECOM’s BIM standards.
- You run and interpret clash tests in Navisworks or ACC, communicate coordination risks early, and drive cross-discipline resolution.
- You complete complex production and early engineering tasks independently and validate assumptions proactively.
- You support engineers by producing advanced calculations, specifications, product evaluations, and detailed coordination documentation.
- You manage multiple workstreams effectively—prioritizing tasks, communicating risks early, and meeting deadlines across several projects.
- You accurately estimate workload, sequence deliverables logically, and provide informed input on level of effort for assigned scope, demonstrating early project management judgment.
- You apply TEECOM standards consistently and contribute improvements through documented feedback and Pull Requests.
- You lead or support coordination meetings and produce clear, actionable notes that strengthen project alignment.

- Participate in discipline, project, engineering, and coordination meetings, contributing updates, resolving issues, and helping drive alignment across teams.
- Support advanced coordination efforts by identifying risks early, resolving modeling challenges, and guiding junior designers through production workflows.
- Maintain strong task visibility and delivery accountability through consistent updates across TEECOM tools and proactive communication with stakeholders.
- Document design decisions, assumptions, and updates in project tools and GitHub with discipline-level clarity and completeness.
- Estimate level of effort for assigned tasks and provide input to Project Leads on sequencing, resource needs, or scope impacts.
- Maintain accurate and timely time and expense entries to support delivery accountability.
- Lead updates to drawing sets, models, calculations, and documentation to support deadlines and maintain cross-discipline accuracy.
- Participate in project, discipline, engineering, production, and coordination meetings, communicating risks, assumptions, and required decisions proactively.
- Execute advanced design, modeling, coordination, and production tasks with minimal oversight.
- Maintain accurate task tracking and coordination updates across TEECOM tools to support team visibility and delivery alignment.
- Coordinate with production and cross-discipline teams to resolve modeling or documentation issues and elevate complex conflicts when needed.
- Run clash detection workflows, review aggregated models, and coordinate next steps with engineering and project teams.
- Ensure modeling approaches, view structures, and family usage support efficient coordination and documentation across all project phases.
- Ask questions early to confirm design intent, clarify scope, and strengthen project alignment.

Supervisory / Mentorship / Training Responsibilities
- Supervisory: None. Designer III roles focus on leading production execution, managing models, and driving coordination quality while supporting engineers and project leads.
- Mentorship: Provide day-to-day guidance to Designer I and II team members by clarifying workflows, reviewing modeling approaches, and helping troubleshoot production or coordination issues. Serve as a reliable technical resource while continuing to seek feedback from your Mentor, senior engineers, and Discipline Leads.
- Training: Actively participate in structured training journeys, mentorship, and hands-on learning to strengthen discipline fundamentals.
Experience and Qualifications
- Education: BS in Engineering (Electrical preferred), Architecture, or a related field; or equivalent technical or field experience.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in the AEC industry with strong proficiency in Revit, coordinated modeling, and construction documentation across multiple projects, including exposure to coordination processes or field related activities.
- Preferred: Experience delivering technology system designs (Telecom/ICT, Audiovisual, Security, Acoustics, Network, Wi-Fi, and other technology disciplines) and supporting engineering tasks such as calculations, device layouts, and specification development.
- Experience leading BIM coordination efforts, including clash detection, model review, and cross-discipline resolution.
- Ability to maintain model health at a senior production level, including workset management, view template application, warning resolution, and model cleanup.
- Ability to manage and maintain coordinated models, produce accurate drawings with minimal oversight, and resolve production issues independently.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage workloads across several projects, lead coordination efforts, and support engineers and project leads.
- Solid technical understanding of technology systems and engineering principles; ability to perform calculations, conduct product research, and contribute to design development with limited guidance.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit; familiarity with Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Asana, and GitHub.
