This role is integral to delivering specialized surgical care to the community, focusing on the treatment and management of complex hand and upper extremity conditions within the public health sector.

The Senior Specialist Hand Surgeon will bring advanced clinical expertise and leadership skills to the position, performing intricate surgeries and guiding junior medical personnel. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the enhancement of healthcare services and support public health initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert diagnosis and surgical intervention for hand and upper extremity disorders.
  • Perform complex surgical procedures such as trauma repair, reconstructive and microsurgical operations.
  • Lead clinical teams, offering mentorship and professional development to junior surgeons and medical staff.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure comprehensive patient care and adherence to government healthcare policies.
  • Participate in public health programs and contribute to clinical research and continuous education within the facility.

Requirements

  • Medical degree with official licensure to practice as a Senior Specialist Hand Surgeon in a government healthcare setting.
  • Completed residency in Orthopedic Surgery or Plastic Surgery, with a completed fellowship in Hand Surgery.
  • Extensive experience handling complex surgical cases involving the hand and upper extremities.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor and guide junior medical personnel.
  • Strong familiarity with government healthcare systems, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, research, and ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to thrive in a public healthcare environment, managing diverse patient cases effectively.
