We are looking for a full-time Clinical Laboratory Manager to join our Clinical Laboratory team at our Belfast Clinic site.
You will provide managerial oversite of clinical laboratory operations while coordinating efforts with site management. This will include: analysis of body fluid specimens in accordance with client protocol using established SOPs and assist and coordinate efforts with clinical laboratory associates. You will exercise independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision by the Technical Director.
Responsibilities
Responsible for laboratory staff management and performance reviews
Provide a positive, professional attitude by attending client meetings and conducting laboratory tours. Attend site management meetings with interaction as appropriate.
Coordinate fees for outside services
Evaluate study feasibility and work with site management and Principal Investigators to manage expectations and timelines
Respond to inquiries, both internal and external in a timely manner.
Create/QC laboratory orders as required by project
Coordinates installation, validation and implementation of new equipment
Quality control evaluation and data review of analytical runs
Trouble-shooting and problem-solving responsibilities
Verifies completion of competency testing as appropriate
Computer entry of analytical results
Documentation of test data
Inventory control of routine materials and special orders for use within the clinical laboratory
Ensure laboratory meets regulatory requirements
Coordinate work with other departments as required by project
Prepare and update standard operating procedures
Meetings and in-service education
Requirements
Certified Biomedical Scientist preferred
Minimum 5 years professional experience as Biomedical Scientist
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience or other people management/work unit management experience
Minimum 1 year of professional client service/client relations experience preferred
Previous experience in respiratory sample analysis experience is desirable
Must be able to work a flexible shift schedule which will include weekdays plus weekend shifts and some occasional evening/early morning hours on a rotational basis.
