Position Summary:
The Shop Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and restoring furniture received from Ashley or returned from customer deliveries, ensuring all products meet quality, safety, and performance standards before redeployment. This role supports operational efficiency and guest satisfaction by performing detailed inspections, executing precise repairs, managing parts inventory, and maintaining accurate records all while adhering to OSHA and company safety requirements
Job Duties:
· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on furniture received from Ashley or returned from customer deliveries.
· Assemble new components and install parts according to specifications, ensuring proper functionality before deployment.
· Conduct detailed inspections to identify wear, damage, or safety concerns and test repaired furniture to verify performance and compliance with standards.
· Track and manage parts inventory, order replacement parts, and maintain accurate records of usage.
· Communicate findings, repair status, and recommendations to supervisors or management in a timely manner.
· Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
· Assist internal teams with technical questions and collaborate with other technicians to complete complex repairs efficiently.
· Suggest process improvements to enhance shop efficiency and overall service quality.
· Stay current on new repair techniques, tools, and product updates relevant to furniture restoration.
· Support delivery resolution efforts by preparing repaired or reconditioned product for redeployment to guests.
Required Qualifications:
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent, required.
· Experience: Previous warehouse, retail, or relative experience, preferred.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
· Physical Demands: Lifting (75 lbs), Standing (90% of Time), Travel (15% of Time)
· Work Environment: Distribution Center
· Schedule: Weekdays, Weekends
