A day in the life:
You will lead the Application Services function within Workplace Technology, ensuring our people have the right software applications to do their jobs efficiently, effectively and securely. You will partner with business leaders to identify opportunities to improve operational processes, manage the application portfolio, and ensure reliable day-to-day service and continuous improvement for application tooling and integrations.
About the role:
As Head of Application Services you will own the enterprise application portfolio and lead lifecycle planning, including phase-in, phase-out and license management. You will provide strategic application advice to business units and senior leaders to drive operational efficiency and return on investment. You will manage vendor relationships, procurement inputs and contract renewals for application vendors and managed services providers. You will oversee project intake and prioritisation for Application Services, supporting delivery from requirements through to go-live. You will also lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, configuration and application support roles.
Key capabilities we’re looking for:
At least eight years’ experience in application software delivery and portfolio management
Proven experience engaging with senior executives and delivering strategic application outcomes
Experience managing third-party vendors and managed service providers
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills
Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and change management experience, with knowledge of ServiceNow advantageous
What success looks like in the first 6–12 months:
Application portfolio governance and roadmap established, with clear phase-in and phase-out plans
Improved stakeholder satisfaction with application tooling and measurable adoption and enablement outcomes
Vendor performance and contract renewals assessed and optimised for value
A prioritisation process for application projects adopted and operating with PMO and Change partners
