Job Description
The Senior Design Manager is a forward-thinking senior creative leader at the forefront of modern brand expression, data-driven storytelling, and innovative marketing design. Reporting to the Creative Director, this role helps shape and execute cutting-edge creative strategies that position the brand as visually distinctive, culturally relevant, and strategically sharp.
Operating within an in-house environment, the Senior Design Manager translates emerging trends, advanced design systems, and evolving digital experiences into cohesive brand execution. They push creative boundaries while ensuring every touchpoint—from campaign launches to data visualization and executive communications—reflects a bold, contemporary, and insight-driven approach. This role requires a balance of visionary thinking and hands-on excellence, setting a high standard for visual craft while continuously evolving how the brand shows up in the world.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Center of Excellence: Maintain a modern creative organization that supports all marketing and business functions, acting as a strategic internal agency. Establish creative strategy, frameworks, brand systems, and storytelling principles that scale across audiences, products and channels.
Content Creation: In collaboration with the Creative Director, lead the creative strategy, ensuring high-quality, relevant content and multimedia assets. Lead and develop creative concepts and assets for integrated campaigns, product launches, ABM programs, and executive-level communications. Ensure creative is customer insight-led, audience-driven, and optimized for performance across digital, social, events, and sales channels.
Storytelling: Translate technical products, platforms, and solutions into clear, differentiated B2B narratives. Partner with Product Marketing and Sales to develop creative that supports the full funnel—from awareness and demand generation to enablement and retention.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing functions, Communications, Product, Sales, and other teams to ensure creative efforts are integrated and consistent across all channels.
Team & Agencies Leadership: Mentor multidisciplinary teams across design, copy, content, and production. Manage and align agencies, contractors and production partners to standards and business priorities.
Quality & Accuracy: Maintain a fanatical devotion to detail; ensuring that while our stories are engaging and vibrant, they remain rooted in the unassailable accuracy that defines the Nielsen name.
Qualifications
10+ years of creative experience in global brands with a strong reputation as an expert.
7+ years of experience in managing agencies and leading teams, including both direct reports and cross-functional teams and agencies.
Proven track record of leading, developing and executing successful, large-scale creative strategies. Leadership in driving innovation and complex initiatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex strategies to executive-level stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Advertising, Marketing or equivalent experience; advanced degree or specialized certifications preferred.
