In this essential role, you will provide compassionate and individualized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting them in achieving greater independence and enhancing their quality of life. As a DSP, you will support clients with daily living activities, facilitate community involvement, and promote personal growth. Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks, including grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Encourage and facilitate participation in social and community activities.
• Support clients in developing life skills and achieving their individual goals.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of client progress and any incidents.
• Ensure a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and family members to optimize care strategies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; experience in direct support or a related field preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy and patience when working with individuals with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or must be obtained upon hire.
