Join the power movement as a Facilities & Chemical Operations Technician
We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Technician to support building maintenance, chemical operations, and Logistics (shipping/Receiving). This role supports site operations across three primary functional areas: Facilities (50%), Chemical Operations (25%), and Logistics/Shipping & Receiving (25%). The position is designed to provide flexible, cross-functional support to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant facility and laboratory operations. The role requires hands-on technical capability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities within a dynamic environment.
What you'll do:
Facilities Support (50%)
Perform routine facility inspections and preventative maintenance activities
Support building systems including HVAC, compressed air, vacuum, chilled water, and general utilities.
Assist with vendor coordination for service, maintenance, and repairs
Respond to facilities-related issues and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
Support small construction, buildout, and space modification projects
Maintain organized documentation of maintenance logs and compliance records
Chemical Technician Support (25%)
Support chemical receiving, storage, labeling, and internal distribution in compliance with site EHS procedures
Assist with hazardous waste handling and coordination with waste vendors
Perform routine chemical inventory audits and reconciliation
Ensure proper PPE usage and adherence to safety protocols
Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory and internal compliance requirements
Assist in maintaining chemical storage areas and secondary containment systems
Logistics & Shipping/Receiving (25%)
Perform daily shipping and receiving activities (approx. 2–3 hours per day)
Receive, inspect, log, and distribute incoming shipments
Coordinate outgoing shipments and maintain shipping documentation
Maintain organized storage areas and manage inventory of supplies
Support monthly physical inventory counts
Ensure packages and materials are properly secured and tracked
What we’re looking for:
2–5+ years of experience in facilities, technical operations, chemical handling, or logistics
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, utilities, and troubleshooting
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
Safety-first mindset
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple functional areas
Effective communication and collaboration
High level of accountability and reliability
Bonus points for:
Experience working in industrial, laboratory, semiconductor, or high-tech environments
Familiarity with chemical safety standards and hazardous waste handling
Experience with inventory systems or ERP platforms (e.g., Odoo or similar)
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)
Must-have Requirements:
Perform activities such as stooping, climbing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
Dedication to safety to mitigate industrial hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, and cryogenics
Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
