Clinical Supervisor & Licensed Therapist

Join Pacific Health Division as a Clinical Supervisor & Licensed Therapist, where you will deliver expert, trauma-informed care through a dual focus on direct clinical practice and professional mentorship.

This role is responsible for providing BBS-compliant supervision to associate clinicians while maintaining a personal caseload of clients. By combining high-level diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment planning with rigorous clinical oversight, the Supervisor ensures all services meet the highest standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, and therapeutic excellence.

Initial contract period with a clear pathway to a Full-Time Permanent position based on performance and clinical integration.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Practice & Assessment

Diagnostic Mastery
Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews and intake assessments to obtain family, psychosocial, medical, and mental health histories.

Treatment Planning
Develop and monitor recovery plans for patients and families, addressing complex mental, emotional, and family disorders.

Crisis Intervention
Provide immediate psychiatric emergency intervention, case management, and referrals to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.

Ongoing Therapy
Deliver high-quality clinical treatment across individual, family, and couples modalities, including services provided via telehealth.

Supervision & Oversight

Clinical Mentorship
Provide 6–8 hours of weekly direct supervision, guiding associate therapists in professional growth and clinical identity.

Quality Control
Perform weekly chart reviews to ensure clinical documentation meets ethical, legal, and quality standards.

Regulatory Knowledge
Apply deep understanding of California laws, patient rights, and BBS regulations to protect both the client and the organization.

Administrative & Professional Excellence

Operational Rigor
Adhere to a strict 24-hour note turnaround and manage administrative requirements, including health plan authorizations and discharge summaries.

Professionalism
Demonstrate independent work with minimal supervision, maintaining prompt responsiveness across all communication channels (email, phone, IM).

Collaborative Leadership
Partner with case management and administrative teams to address operational issues and maintain seamless patient care.

Compliance
Maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality and stay current with health regulation agencies and mandated reporter protocols.

Knowledge & Skills

Educational and Technical Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, or counseling.
  • Have completed the initial 15 hours of supervision training.
  • Ongoing CE: Supervisors must complete 6 hours of continuing education (CE) in supervision during each renewal cycle.

Language Skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English; Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Years of Experience

  • Supervisors must have been licensed for at least 2 years out of the last 5 years prior to supervising.
  • Supervisors must have practiced 2 years out of the last 5 years prior to supervising.

Requirements

Professional Licensure
Must hold a current, unrestricted license with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC. Must be eligible to provide clinical supervision per BBS requirements (minimum 2 years post-licensure).

Clinical Communication
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write and interpret complex clinical information accurately and concisely.

Technical Proficiency

  • Office Suites: Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Data Management: Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) for tracking caseloads
  • Collaboration Tools: High responsiveness via Gmail, instant messaging, and video conferencing platforms
  • Operating Systems: Mastery of Windows and Google Suite-based environments
