Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager of Technology provides first-level technical support for hardware, software, and peripheral issues, serving as the primary point of contact for help desk requests. This role diagnoses and resolves technical problems, configures and maintains IT equipment, documents support activities, monitors basic system performance, and escalates complex issues as needed while following established IT policies and security guidelines.
Job Duties:
- Provide first-level technical support to employees experiencing issues with computers, software, hardware, and peripherals.
- Respond to help desk requests in person, by phone, and remotely in a timely and professional manner.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve common technical issues, escalating more complex problems to senior IT staff as needed.
- Set up, configure, and maintain computers, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
- Monitor basic IT systems and alerts to ensure systems are operating properly and efficiently.
- Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately in the help desk system.
- Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security guidelines when providing support.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, preferred.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in an IT help desk or technical support role (internships, coursework, and school lab experience count), required.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
· Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer and responding to support requests; Occasional lifting and moving of IT equipment such as computers, monitors, and printers (up to 25–50 lbs).
· Work Environment: Support Office; Retail Store Location
· Schedule: Weekdays, Weekends, and Holidays, as required.
