Description
The LLM Engineer / EU Project Manager is a multidisciplinary role that combines hands-on development of Large Language Model (LLM)–based solutions with the coordination and management of European-funded research and innovation projects (e.g., Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, Digital Europe). The role focuses on designing AI-driven systems while ensuring effective project planning, reporting, and collaboration across international partners, aligning technical outcomes with EU project objectives and deliverables.
Note: The Greek-based position assumes a hybrid mode of work, whereas the Swiss-based one a remote (in Switzerland).
Key Responsibilities
LLM Engineering & Technical Development
- Design, develop, and deploy applications leveraging Large Language Models (prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, evaluation workflows, and integrations).
- Contribute to the technical architecture and implementation of AI components within company and EU-funded projects.
- Develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and production-ready solutions aligned with project goals.
- Evaluate model performance, reliability, and ethical implications, ensuring compliance with EU AI and data protection standards.
- Collaborate with researchers, developers, and data scientists across partner organizations.
EU Project Management
- Coordinate technical work packages, tasks, and deliverables within EU-funded projects.
- Support proposal writing, especially in AI/LLM-related sections (technical approach, innovation impact, methodology).
- Track milestones, timelines, and deliverables to ensure compliance with grant agreements.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and contributions for periodic reviews.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among international consortia partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with LLM technologies, NLP, prompt engineering, and AI system integration.
- Proficiency in Python and experience working with APIs, cloud services, and data pipelines.
- Experience participating in or managing EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe, H2020, or similar).
- Understanding of project lifecycle management, deliverable planning, and reporting requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in international, multidisciplinary teams.
