As a Procurement Specialist/Liaison Officer you will be responsible for;

 

1. On‑Site Representation

  • Serve as the direct, on‑location representative for the European contracting team at the U.S. manufacturing site.
  • Maintain consistent oversight of production activities and establish working relationships with engineering personnel, production teams, and program leadership across all partner organizations.

2. Reporting & Documentation

  • Deliver daily production updates (1–3 times per day), summarizing status, observations, and responses to information requests.
  • Prepare formal weekly reports capturing trends, issues, progress, and insights related to manufacturing processes.
  • Provide clear, unbiased information that supports operational and strategic decision-making.

3. Meeting Participation & Schedule Coordination

  • Attend daily sync meetings with the European team (typically early morning U.S. time) and additional program meetings aligned with European working hours.
  • Participate in weekly schedule-alignment meetings with the U.S.-based technology provider to track timeline changes and communicate rationale to the European program manager.
  • Serve as a communication bridge across teams working in multiple time zones.

4. Support for Visiting Engineers

  • Assist visiting engineers from the European team during periodic on-site inspections, including gathering data, preparing materials, and completing simple hands‑on tasks to optimize their limited time on-site.
  • Coordinate closely with manufacturing and engineering personnel to ensure readiness for technical reviews.

5. Monitoring Production Activities

  • Observe and document manufacturing operations on the production floor, adapting to varying access restrictions depending on which partner personnel are on site.
  • Maintain situational awareness even when access is limited or controlled by partner policies.
  • Provide the European team with accurate, real‑time insights into manufacturing conditions.

6. Cross‑Organizational Communication

  • Provide timely answers to operational questions related to equipment status, staffing, quality issues, or production flow.
  • Work to overcome information bottlenecks when communication via email is delayed or incomplete.
  • Exercise diplomacy in environments where partner organizations may limit access or control information flow.

7. Portal & Data Management

  • Use elevated access privileges to upload documents and data into the European team’s secure online portal.
  • Assist partners who lack similar access by serving as the local point of contact for portal submissions.

Qualifications;

 

Technical Aptitude

  • Engineering or manufacturing familiarity is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to understand technical processes well enough to observe, interpret, and communicate production activity.

Exceptional Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to operate in politically complex environments where cooperation may vary and where the role may be viewed with caution or skepticism.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills across multiple organizations.

Flexibility & Adaptability

  • Comfortable working in a role that evolves over time and requires developing new processes, communication norms, and reporting structures from scratch.
  • Able to adjust quickly to shifting access constraints, changing priorities, and dynamic partner expectations.

Strong Communication Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication appropriate for daily operational updates and higher‑level weekly executive reporting.
  • Able to present information clearly, concisely, and objectively.

 

Salary Range: $85K-$125K

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
