Who We Are:
The Normal Brand is a family owned, fast-growing, apparel company that operates online and in over 500 stores across the world. We believe that we can make someone’s day better by greeting them with a smile, handing them a cold beverage, and selling them a sharp outfit. We love competitors who make winning fun for everyone around them. Energy, positivity, and hunger are massively important in this role. Written and verbal communication is crucial for us to scale quickly and successfully.

An accounting professional with a growth mindset and a willingness to take on a diverse set of roles within our finance department is key to enabling this future growth.

  • This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting operations (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and cash management), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, internal controls, and compliance, while partnering closely with the Controller, CFO and operations leaders.
  • Lead Accounts Receivable function, including but not limited to invoicing wholesale and corporate accounts, monitoring of cash collection and accounts receivable balances, processing credit card and ACH payments from customers, and managing team members involved in the process
  • Lead Accounts Payable function, including processing invoices from vendors, actively managing AP aging, maintaining vendor relationships, and making payments to vendors in a timely manner
  • Work closely with CFO on cash flow management and forecasting, particularly as it related to cash inflows from customers and outflows to vendors

  • Prepare and review supporting schedules for financial statements related to AR, AP, payroll, and cash
  • Assist Controller and CFO with audit, tax, and external advisor requests, including documentation and reconciliations
  • Assist in managing the company’s inventory management software, which is utilized in the above wholesale and receivable processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation and system usage to increase efficiency and accuracy

Reports To: Controller

Requirements

Above all, a person who joins our team must be three things: humble, hungry, smart (we stole that from a book written by a guy much smarter than us). In addition to the humble, hungry, and smart requirements for all teammates, for this role we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, specifically working with and managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, and an ability to learn new systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for data-driven decision-making-  doesn’t accept the first answer as the best answer
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams and different roles
  • Entrepreneurial, flexibility, and a positive “can-do” mentality
  • Previous experience working with Sage Intacct, or an ability to learn new accounting systems

Benefits

We offer the chance for growth. We are a young company started in a basement 10 years ago, and we have a lot to prove. We want to add people to the team who want to be a part of this family and grow within it for life. In addition to that, we also offer:

  • Generous Employee discount on our products
  • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance available
  • 401k with matching
