Junior Graphics Designer at Golden Lighting
Golden Lighting · Tallahassee, United States Of America · On-site
- Office in Tallahassee
Description
About Golden Lighting Golden Lighting is a premier name in the residential design industry, recognized nationally for delivering "Expert Lighting Designs for Every Space." We combine the market reach of a major brand with the agility and culture of a tight-knit, 30-person private enterprise. We are profitable, growing, and obsessed with quality—not just in our products, but in our operations.
We are looking for a Junior Creative & Marketing Designer to bridge the gap between product development and the digital shelf. In this role, you won't be designing the lights themselves; instead, you will be the "visual architect" responsible for how our finished products are presented to the world.
You will take high-res product graphics and engineering files to create stunning catalogs, social media content, and lifestyle "room shots." A key part of this role is acting as a Creative Coordinator, managing a small fleet of subcontractors to ensure our graphics, website copy, and social assets are executed to perfection.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Visual Design & Merchandising
- Catalog Production: Layout and design of our product catalogs, ensuring technical accuracy and a luxury aesthetic.
- Digital Assets: Create engaging graphics for social media (Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn) using finished product renders and photography.
- Website Enhancements: Develop "Room Shots" and lifestyle composites for our website to help customers visualize our lighting in their homes.
- Marketing Collateral: Design spec sheets, brochures, and digital lookbooks that support our sales team and B2B dealers.
Creative Subcontractor Management
- Project Coordination: Manage external subcontractors (graphic designers, copywriters, and social media creators) to ensure project timelines are met.
- Quality Control: Review website copy for brand voice and technical accuracy before it goes live.
- Creative Briefing: Provide clear direction and brand guidelines to freelancers to ensure all outsourced work aligns with the Golden Lighting aesthetic.
Brand Documentation
- Maintain an organized Digital Asset Management (DAM) system for all photography, graphics, and marketing files.
- Ensure all marketing materials meet brand standards and reflect the latest product updates.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related creative field.
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite: Specifically InDesign (for catalogs), Photoshop (for room shots/composites), and Illustrator.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects at once while overseeing the output of external freelancers.
- Visual Storytelling: A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to take a product and create a lifestyle narrative around it.
Preferred:
- Copy Editing: A strong handle on grammar and the ability to refine website copy for tone and clarity.
- Industry Context: Experience in home furnishings, interior design, or luxury retail.
- Tech Savvy: Familiarity with Canva for quick-turn social assets and project management tools like Asana or Monday.com.
Key Competencies
- Aesthetic Judgment: You have a "designer’s eye" for layout, typography, and photo composition.
- Detail Obsession: You catch the small errors in copy or alignment that others might miss.
- Collaborative Spirit: You enjoy working with a manager to execute a vision while independently managing external partners.
