A Better Opportunity

The Associate, Office of the CEO will serve as a high-impact partner to Better’s CEO, supporting the company’s most important strategic priorities and helping drive execution across the leadership team and the broader organization.
This role is designed for a highly capable generalist who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and wants broad exposure to executive decision-making, company-wide strategy, and complex cross-functional initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role reporting into our New York City office.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Support & Execution
  • Partner closely with the CEO on top strategic initiatives, special projects, and high-priority business decisions
  • Conduct research, analysis, and synthesis to inform executive, leadership team, and board-level discussions
  • Prepare executive-level materials including memos, presentations, briefing documents, and talking points
  • Translate high-level strategy into clear plans, milestones, and execution frameworks

  • Operating Cadence & Leadership Team Effectiveness
  • Drive the CEO’s operating cadence, including leadership meetings, planning cycles, and executive offsites
  • Design agendas, track decisions, and ensure consistent follow-through on company-level priorities
  • Monitor progress against key initiatives and surface risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies

  • Cross-Functional Project Leadership
  • Lead and coordinate high-impact, cross-functional initiatives spanning product, operations, finance, people, and go-to-market teams
  • Act as a neutral integrator across functions, aligning stakeholders and unblocking execution challenges
  • Own ambiguous, time-sensitive projects that require strong judgment, discretion, and rapid execution

  • Communication & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a thought partner and sounding board to the CEO
  • Interface with senior leaders, board members, and investors as needed
  • Help shape internal communications, executive messaging, and company-wide narratives
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; 2–5+ years of experience in strategy & operations, management consulting, investment banking, private equity / venture capital, or high-growth startups
  • Experience supporting senior executives and leading complex, cross-functional initiatives strongly preferred
  • Exceptional analytical and structured-thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable producing executive-level materials
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and strong follow-through
  • High judgment, discretion, and integrity; trusted with sensitive and confidential information
  • Confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • A proactive, low-ego team player who thrives on ownership and collaboration
  • A curious, intellectually honest individual with a strong desire to learn and grow
