Application Support Engineer

Purpose

Our key contribution to society is to help clinicians and those who support them provide state-of-the-art medical care. 

Our primary business purpose is to help clients and supporters increase the effectiveness of activities pertaining to scientific communication, medical education and the maintenance of clinician audience intimacy.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Monitor application health, availability, and performance to ensure systems operate reliably
  • Provide Priority 1–4 support for application incidents, service requests, and defects
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues, including root cause analysis
  • Respond to incidents and alerts within defined SLAs and escalation procedures
  • Coordinate with development, infrastructure, vendor, and business teams to resolve issues
  • Perform configuration changes for specific applications
  • Validate fixes and perform post-incident reviews and documentation for specific applications
  • Maintain application documentation, runbooks, and support procedures
  • Monitor logs, dashboards, and alerts; proactively identify and prevent issues
  • Provide on-call or after-hours support as required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • University or college Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 -5  years of experience in web development and support
  • 3-5 years of experience working with AWS cloud technologies.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Team player.  Ability to share information with peers and transfer knowledge.
  • Experience on implementing and maintaining applications in AWS 
  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise systems/technology solutions that includes both in-house code and 3rd party solutions.
  • Experience with one of the programming languages Reactjs (preferred), Nodejs. php(Symfony or Yii) will be a plus, and Serverless technologies
  • Experience with Database Technologies (SQL language)
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines/SLA agreements (Time to resolution, quality of execution are key performance measures)
  • Experience with utilizing and configuring monitoring tools (New Relic, Datadog, etc.)

Certifications:

  • AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional (preferred)
