Description
Clean rooms and halls in assisted living facility by performing the following duties to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Respond to personal emergency and direct clients to emergency location.
- Interpret fireboard when emergency alarms sound.
- Monitor maintenance concerns, write orders and track their completion.
- Maintain each client’s apartment on a daily basis which can include laundry, making beds, cleaning/vacuuming each room, restocking supplies in client rooms.
- Ensure an attractive, safe, and sanitary environment is provided for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Identify and prevent safety hazards, accidents, and injuries.
- Provide respect, privacy, and dignity to all residents and doesn’t enter apartments inappropriately.
- Is able to work independently as well as a team member with a positive attitude.
- Move furniture, hang drapes, and roll carpets.
- Clean lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, and hallways.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Dust furniture.
- Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
- Wash windows, door panels, and sills. Empty wastebaskets.
- Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
- Replenish bathroom supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education or general education degree (GED); or up to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Must meet employment physical and have tuberculin skin test annually.
