Set new product costs by compiling & obtaining itemized materials and price lists from blueprints and specifications. Candidate will participate in cost reduction activities and attend VA/VE meetings. Analyze and explain variances between planned and actual costs. Include impact on mid range and long range operating plans. Consult with Design and Production Engineering on cost problems.
Duties:
1.Strategy implementation and goal setting:
·Implement and execute plans and activities to ensure that department strategies and goals are met.
·Assist in creating the procedures of the Cost Planning Department.
2.Perform cost planning activities:
·Compile/obtain itemized materials and price lists from blueprints and specifications
·Participate in cost reduction activities and attend VA/VE meetings
·Acquire data and track sales price and material cost changes during pre-production stages
·Set new product costs
·Analyze and explain variances between planned and actual costs
·Include impact on mid range and long range operating plans
·Maintain cost database for pre-production and start of production components / parts as needed
·Lead cost reduction activity meetings for all internal departments
·Generate VA/VE items
·Perform Genba (Go and See) activity to find the root cause of issues.
3. Coordinate with internal departments for estimating cost targets:
·Compute cost estimates of
-Raw materials
-Purchased equipment
-Processes
-Subcontracted work and labor
-Consult with Design and Production Engineering on cost problems
-Obtain price targets, calculate overall cost target and current cost estimates.
4. Reporting:
·Establish effective systems and procedures to standardize the work of TRAM Cost Planning
·Create & submit weekly activity report to all necessary Management of Cost Planning
·Perform projects and duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
