Finance Assistant at Capital on Tap

🏡🏢This is a Hybrid role, the Finance team work from our London (Moorgate) Offices 3 days per week.

The Role
The Finance Team is a driven and agile team sitting at the very heart of the business. We don't just crunch numbers; we protect the company's commercial health and ensure the engine of our FinTech runs smoothly.

As a Finance Assistant you will immerse yourself in the financial operations of the business, learning the ropes of a high-growth FinTech from the ground up. This isn't just about ticking boxes; it's about understanding how a missed reconciliation affects our risk profile or how a delayed invoice impacts a customer relationship.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the fundamentals: You'll manage accounts payable and reconciliations (bank and debtor), ensuring our financial data is bulletproof.
• Protect the business: You will investigate discrepancies and solve root causes, understanding that accuracy here minimizes commercial risk.
• Connect the dots: You’ll collaborate with IT and other departments to fix process breaks, seeing first-hand how Finance interacts with the wider product.
• Automate and improve: You’ll help us move faster by identifying manual tasks we can automate.

📖 Get qualified: We will fund and support you to complete your accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA) while you work.📖

We’re Looking For 

• You have strong business acumen: Whether you are a fresh grad or have a few years of experience, you understand that "admin" tasks have real-world commercial impact.
• You are ambitious and curious: You want to know why we do things, not just how. You are ready to start (or finish) your accounting qualification.
• You get the risk factor: You understand that in a lending business, small financial errors can lead to big problems, and you take pride in spotting them early.
• You are a tenacious problem solver: When numbers don't match, you don't just leave it-you hunt down the answer. You stay highly organised even when things get busy.
• You own the fundamentals: You have a solid grasp of double-entry bookkeeping, know your way around Excel, and aren't afraid of a complicated spreadsheet.
• You want to grow: You are keen to learn and develop your career in a fast-paced environment.
• Bonus points: If you have experience with NetSuite or SQL.
