QA Lead – Digital Health & Pharma Domain

Automation experience: 3+ years (Playwright/Cypress)

Who you’ll be working with
We build the solutions envisioned by the product and design teams. Our goal is to deliver working software every two weeks. We are a large team that spans across three global offices, but we collaborate and integrate front- and back-end components and interfaces to provide a user-centered experience through web and mobile platforms.
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on QA Lead to own quality for a healthcare online pharmacy platform. This role goes beyond execution. You will oversee a team of QA engineers while remaining deeply involved in the technical testing of complex integrations, including fulfillment engines, tax calculations, payment gateways, and HIPAA-compliant data flows.
What you’ll be doing
- Quality Strategy & ownership
- Define and drive end-to-end QA strategy across UI, APIs, backend services, and third-party integrations.
- Establish test standards, automation practices, release criteria, and quality gates, including entry/exit criteria
- Proactively surface quality risks early, clearly communicate testing constraints, and influence decisions to avoid last-minute scope or timeline compromises.
- Own regression strategy (to ensure predictable, low-risk releases), including driving of regular audits and updates to factor in new features and key bug fixes.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA engineers
- Creating test plans and providing technical guidance on complex test cases.
- Review test artifacts and ensure consistent execution.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities, and work closely with product and development teams for releases.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Product and Dev leads, providing real-time visibility into quality metrics.
- Review and scrutinize manual and automation testing estimates to ensure efforts align with the scope to ensure over- or under-test planning and/or execution is avoided.
- Functional, API & Integration Testing
- Perform and own testing for complex healthcare workflows such as prescription management, order fulfillment, payments, and notifications.
- Ensure robust coverage for the Integrations like Fulfillment Partners, Tax Engine, Payment Gateway, CMS, etc
- Ensure testing aligns with healthcare compliance, data privacy, and security expectations.
- Automation
- Review and monitor automation execution reports, and maintain and fix automation scripts as needed.
- Work with the automation team to ensure critical scenarios are handled
- Provide support for prioritization, change request etc
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Support teams.
- Act as the quality voice during planning, grooming, and release discussions.
- Provide clear quality metrics and release readiness status.
What you’ll need to be successful (Requirements)
- 10 years of QA experience with a strong hands-on background.
- 3+ years in healthcare, pharma, or regulated digital products.
- 3+ years of hands-on exposure to automation tools like Playwright, Cypress, and Postman for maintaining and fixing automation scripts.
- Strong experience testing: Web applications, REST APIs, Mobile apps, Third-party integrations
- Experience with software testing methods, such as functional testing, end-to-end testing, and sanity/regression testing.
- Strong knowledge of Test Methodologies, SDLC (Agile, Scrum), STLC, and Bug Life Cycle.
- Experience with management tools. Jira, TestRail/ Zephyr.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle priorities.
- Experience handling a small team
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to provide support during CST hours for critical production releases when necessary\
Nice-to-have
- Experience with HIPAA and other healthcare-related compliance standards is highly beneficial.
