Secret Media Network is a digital media group focused on recommending perfect plans, discovering great places, sharing things to do and relevant breaking news in different cities around the world. Our family is composed of Secret Chicago, Secret LA, Secret NYC, Secret Miami, Secret Toronto, Secret London, Paris Secret, Madrid Secreto, and more!
About the role
Join our dynamic editorial team: We are currently seeking a talented Staff Writer to join our Wien Uncovered team!
This is an exceptional chance to become part of a professional newsroom, where you'll have the opportunity to advance your career as a vital member of one of the most sought-after digital media teams, based in Madrid or Barcelona.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Discover and develop compelling stories and generate numerous article ideas for Wien Uncovered.
- Crafting engaging, accurate, and informative articles efficiently.
- Produce content for our commercial partners and Fever Original events.
- Ensuring all site copy and headlines adhere to editorial guidelines and our style guide.
- Collaborating on an editorial calendar that balances news, reviews, and city-centric content, ranging from trending stories to planned campaigns.
- Creating SEO-friendly posts (SEO training will be provided).
- Assisting in promotional efforts and collaborating with our Social Media Networking team under manager guidance.
- Using analytics to refine your content strategy and make adjustments as necessary.
About You
Here's what we're seeking in candidates:
- Native-level proficiency in written and spoken German is essential. A fluent English for internal communications is also preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in digital writing.
- Proficiency with social and digital publishing tools.
- Has a working knowledge of social media best practices and a keen interest in staying updated on the latest trends in social media and digital platforms.
- Exhibits a keen news sense, understanding what makes a story shareable on social media.
- Is familiar with social and digital publishing tools, with a strong organizational approach to managing their responsibilities.
- A strong connection to the city's lifestyle, food, entertainment, and art scene, demonstrating a deep understanding of its cultural nuances.
