The Role (Plain English)
You coach movement, not just a sport.
As a Multi-Sport Coach, you lead structured classes and sessions across a variety of activities — basketball, volleyball, speed & agility, and general athletic development. Your job is to keep kids moving, improving, and confident in a high-energy, well-run environment.
You’re expected to be adaptable, prepared, and actively engaged on the floor.
What You’re Responsible For (Outcomes, Not Tasks)
1. High-quality sessions
- Classes start on time and run with purpose
- Kids stay active and engaged
- Drills are clear, safe, and age-appropriate
2. Skill development
- You teach fundamentals that transfer across sports
- You give simple, effective cues (not lectures)
- Kids leave better than they arrived
3. Safety & structure
- Rules are enforced consistently
- You manage group size and flow
- You stop unsafe behavior immediately
4. Energy & presence
- You bring positive, confident energy
- You command attention without yelling
- Parents feel comfortable leaving their kids with you
5. Team standards
- You follow Sportyard programming and expectations
- You communicate issues or needs clearly
- You represent the brand professionally
Who This Role Is For
You’ll thrive here if you:
- Have experience coaching kids or leading group activities
- Are comfortable teaching multiple sports or skills
- Care more about fundamentals than ego
- Can adapt on the fly while staying structured
Former athletes, PE teachers, camp counselors, and youth coaches tend to do well.
Requirements
- Must be 18+
- Prior youth coaching or group leadership experience
- Comfortable coaching basketball, volleyball, and general athletic movement
- CPR / First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
- Willing to work nights, weekends, and camps
