Connelly School of the Holy Child is a Catholic, college preparatory school, committed to the intellectual, spiritual, artistic, physical, and social development of young women in grades 6 through 12. - Teaching high school level math courses (Alg. I, Alg. II and Trigonometry, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Quantitative Literacy, Statistics)
- Create an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of young women
- Plan and implement instructional strategies aligned with best practices for math education (i.e. building thinking classrooms or similar approaches)
- Integrating technology effectively into classroom practices
- Participating in the school community with other duties as assigned
- Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Math department as well as with colleagues from additional departments to align teaching practices
- Pursuing professional development opportunities to continually grow as a Math teacher in order to enhance student learning
- Responding to the needs of Holy Child, including service learning, advisory program, assigned supervision and other duties as assigned
- An active commitment to enhancing our school community through involvement with committees and in student life activities
- Effective and consistent communication with students, parents, staff, and community
- Developing, selecting, and differentiating instruction to meet the needs of a diverse population
- Maintaining appropriate records and following required procedures and practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics or related field required, with teaching experience in various levels of secondary education 6-12. Master’s Degree preferred; MSDE certification preferred
- Successful math teaching experience at the high school grade levels
- Familiarity with innovative instructional strategies such as building thinking classrooms and visible thinking strategies; as well as current research on assessment and grading
- Commitment to embrace the school’s mission and values
- Genuine enthusiasm and passion for teaching and inspiring a love of learning
