Description

As an LPN, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Charge RN. You will support nursing operations through medication administration, patient monitoring, and therapeutic engagement while maintaining the highest standards of behavioral health nursing.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care: Provide direct nursing care to adolescent patients within your scope of practice.
  • Assessment: Perform focused nursing assessments and contribute data to the nursing care plan initiated by the Registered Nurse.
  • Medication Management: Accurately prepare and administer medications following the "five rights" and monitor for therapeutic effects or adverse reactions.
  • Patient Safety: Monitor patients for changes in condition or safety risks, and assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation as trained.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and objective documentation in the EMR regarding patient status and interventions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with RNs, therapists, and physicians to support a therapeutic milieu and participate in shift handoffs.

What We Are Looking For

  • Licensure: Current, valid LPN licensure in the state of Utah.
  • Certification: CPR/BLS certification (or the ability to obtain it upon hire).
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage stressful situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Background: Must be able to pass both state and federal background checks.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings, bilingual (English/Spanish) skills, and certifications like CPI or trauma-informed care.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to respond physically and emotionally to patients in crises.
