We need a Payroll Analyst to take ownership of high-impact U.S. payroll operations (with Canada exposure), trusted with sensitive data and millions in payroll while ensuring employees are paid accurately, compliantly, and on time. This is a full-time role and will work a hybrid schedule based in Lehi, Utah, offering hands-on experience with public-company payroll, equity processing, and complex compliance in a fast-growing environment.

What is a day in the life of a Payroll Analyst?

  • Process bi-weekly U.S. payroll and support Canada payroll processing
  • Process commissions, severance payments, and off-cycle payrolls as needed
  • Validate payroll registers, ensuring accuracy from gross-to-net calculations
  • Process and reconcile 401(k) and HSA contributions against payroll registers
  • Respond to payroll tickets and employee payroll inquiries
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies (e.g., incorrect bank details)
  • Support state tax compliance and respond to notices using ADP Smart Compliance
  • Process monthly RSU payroll activity and ongoing ESPP transactions
  • What will I need to thrive in this role?

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience (U.S. required; Canada a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with Workday HCM
  • Hands-on experience with ADP and ADP Smart Compliance
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs required)
  • Strong understanding of payroll registers, deductions, and reconciliations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality

  • 30 Days; Become familiar with Pattern’s payroll systems, processes, and stakeholders. Understand payroll cycles, escalation paths, and compliance requirements
  • 60 Days; Independently support payroll processing with guidance. Confidently resolve common payroll issues and inquiries
  • 90 Days; Fully own payroll processing with near‑zero errors; Minimize off‑cycle payrolls caused by processing issues' Serve as a trusted payroll partner across the organization

  • You will work with the other Human Resource team members and be supervised by the Global Payroll Manager. You will also be mentored by the Director of Human Resources and meet with them on a regular basis to discuss your performance. This team is data driven and results oriented. You will collaborate regularly with members of your team to implement actionable solutions. Ideas and input are encouraged from all members.
