Scope of Role
The Senior People Partner is a trusted advisor to team leaders, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Go-to-Market teams to enable high performance, strong culture, and scalable people practices.
This role plays a key part in translating business strategy into practical people initiatives, balancing strategic intent with hands-on execution. It is well suited to a commercially minded People and HR specialist who thrives in fast-paced, technology-driven and scaling environments.
The role supports all leaders across multiple business units in Australia and New Zealand and collaborates with global stakeholders as required.
You will be Responsible for:
Strategic Partnership
Act as a People Practices advisor to all leaders, shaping organisational design, workforce planning, performance, and engagement strategies to support business objectives and growth.
Partner with leaders to align people strategies with short- and long-term business priorities.
Use workforce data and insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the employee lifecycle and inform decision-making.
Coach leaders on change leadership, decision-making, and people-related risk management.
Talent & Performance
Enable leaders to build high-performing teams through effective performance management, goal setting, and feedback practices.
Partner with Talent Acquisition on workforce planning, role design, and hiring strategies for technical and commercial roles.
Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives to strengthen future capability.
Contribute to talent reviews, promotion processes, and compensation decisions in partnership with People Operations.
Employee Relations & Compliance
Manage complex and senior employee relations matters with empathy, discretion, and sound judgement, including investigations, grievances, and performance management.
Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation, modern awards, and internal policies.
Provide guidance and support through organisational change initiatives, including restructures and role changes.
Culture, Engagement & Capability
Champion company values and help embed a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.
Build manager capability through coaching on people leadership, communication, performance conversations, and difficult discussions.
HR Operations & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with People Operations, Payroll, and HR Centres of Excellence to ensure a consistent and high-quality employee experience.
Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of People and HR policies, processes, and tools.
Support and contribute to global people initiatives in collaboration with international teams.
You will bring:
7+ years’ experience in Human Resources, with significant experience in an HR Business Partner or Senior HRBP role
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related discipline.
Postgraduate HR qualifications or professional accreditation (e.g. AHRI) desirable.
Experience working in a software, technology, or high-growth environment.
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice including working with legislative bodies to manage cases in this space.
Demonstrated ability to influence, challenge, and coach senior leaders.
Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels in a fast-changing environment.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect people initiatives to business outcomes.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to operate effectively with ambiguity and influence without direct authority.
