We deliver products to meet the demands of today while building a platform to take advantage of what comes next.

Working with us means you’ll have the opportunity to make lasting, impactful changes for our company and our customers. If you’re ready to apply your exceptional skills to create the factory of the future, we’d love to speak with you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Bright Machines is on a mission to transform how electronics are made—bringing intelligence, scalability, and flexibility to the factory floor. We combine the best of automation, machine learning, and software to modernize manufacturing from the ground up. We are looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our team.

As an Industrial Engineer at Bright Machines, you will play a key role in shaping the performance of our automated server assembly operations. You’ll analyze, design, and refine manufacturing workflows, optimizing production processes to increase throughput and strengthen the reliability and scalability of our automation systems. This role works closely with operations, engineering, and quality teams to ensure every line runs with precision and efficiency.

You will identify bottlenecks, develop data-driven improvements, and lead initiatives that boost productivity, reduce waste, and drive consistent, high-quality output. Success in this role requires solid technical expertise, a strong process-optimization mindset, and a deep understanding of automated manufacturing environments.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Analyze automated assembly workflows, line balance, and workstation performance.
  • Evaluate cycle times, capacity, throughput, yield, downtime, and quality metrics to optimize equipment and labor utilization.
  • Conduct time studies and standard work analysis to establish benchmarks and process standards.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methods.
  • Design and recommend equipment layouts, material flow, and workstation configurations for new or modified lines.
  • Support automation upgrades, new technologies, and optimization of automated assembly cells.
  • Lead and support Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and visualize production data; prepare reports to support management decisions.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to implement and sustain improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production teams to reinforce standardized processes.
  • Participate in new product introductions (NPI) to optimize manufacturability from design through production.
  • WHAT WE WANT TO SEE

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, or industrial engineering.
  • Experience with automated assembly, robotics, or electronics manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement project experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including process mapping, time studies, and workflow optimization.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis, Excel, and data visualization tools.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and process documentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, automated manufacturing environment.
