The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Partnership and Advisory, the SHRBP works with business leaders and participates as required with the management team in supporting strategy, workforce planning, and determining people needs and priorities. Participates with the Human Resources team to ensure the creation and progressive initiatives in all HR areas align with business needs and align to the SAIT Strategic Plan. This position will act as a change agent, facilitator, subject matter expert and organizational culture driver.
The Role
Lead and/or contribute to strategic workforce planning, project-based business initiatives and institutional HR programs such as policy development, business continuity plans, organization design, engagement and bargaining.
Drive cyclical programs across the institution. Such as engagement pulse surveys and action planning, annual budget planning, leadership development, etc.
Responsible for the development, consistent implementation and oversight of employee-related policies, collective agreements, and best practices. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Participate in bargaining cycles, investigations and grievance/arbitration hearings.
Develop or review HR policies and procedures, processes and manage employee and labour relations as necessary.
Forecast and develop workforce plans for key staffing. Develop and implement proactive, innovative and effective talent acquisition and development strategies to attract and retain/promote qualified talent to support short and long-term staffing requirements.
Partner with all other ES functions and other cross-functional teams to ensure a positive new employee onboarding experience.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with senior managers and executives, providing guidance on Human Resource issues where needed.
Partner with leaders to build organizational succession plans and support individual development plans.
Foster employee engagement, oversee and participate in ongoing employee initiatives.
Develop, facilitate, and lead change efforts and communication strategies related to business initiatives and/or HR programs
Collaborate with operational leaders in the development of a more empowered and accountable culture with shared priorities for a positive work environment.
Proactively liaise with other HR Centers of Excellence and other corporate services partners to ensure continuity of program rollout and administration
Qualifications & Experience
Degree/Diploma in related field or related years of experience
Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience as a senior HR practitioner
CPHR designation is preferred

Additional Information
Salary range: $97,761.00 - $117,358.00
Paid Leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year
