As a leader in hospice and palliative care, we are seeking a Hospice House Clinical Manager to oversee clinical operations at our extraordinary hospice house location. In this vital leadership role, you’ll help ensure that our patients and their families receive exceptional, compassionate care during one of life’s most meaningful transitions.
About the Role
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Clinical Operations, you will provide strategic and hands-on leadership to clinical teams in the hospice house setting. You’ll guide interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, all while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and operational excellence. This is more than a management position—it’s an opportunity to lead in a mission-driven environment where your clinical expertise and leadership will directly impact patient outcomes and family experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate evening and night clinical operations at the hospice house.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing and interdisciplinary team members.
- Screen and oversee patient admissions to ensure appropriate level of care.
- Collaborate on staffing plans, scheduling, orientation, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accrediting body requirements.
- Monitor and support quality metrics, patient/family satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison between medical staff, hospice team members, and organizational leadership.
- Support budgetary planning and operational efficiency.
Who You Are
- A Registered Nurse, licensed in Massachusetts.
- A natural leader with at least 3 years of management experience in hospice, palliative, acute, or long-term care.
- Passionate about hospice philosophy and deeply familiar with symptom management and end-of-life care.
- Experienced in regulatory compliance, including DPH, CMS, JCAHO, or CHAP.
- A mentor and coach who fosters staff development, collaboration, and communication.
- A compassionate communicator with strong decision-making and organizational skills.
- A licensed driver with access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
