POSITION SUMMARY
Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications for the patients under the State Board of Pharmacy allowable duties. Reports directly to the Chief Pharmacist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Other duties as assigned.
- Secretarial tasks such as answering telephone, answering door, filing, typing, patient requests (refills, etc), and complaints.
- Accounting tasks such as third party billing and posting, reconciling claims, record keeping.
- Clerical tasks such as data entry, maintaining patient medical records, and typing labels.
- Inventory control tasks such as monitoring, pricing, dating, invoicing, stocking, and preparation of purchase orders.
- Help maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy. Cleaning shelves and counters, keep pharmacy supplies stocked at all times.
- Be able to perform duties in a stressful environment and perform duties with precision, attention to detail, and without constant instruction from the Pharmacist.
- Process pharmacy POS (point-of-sale) including working rejected claims, working with patient registration for data corrections, works prior authorizations in conjunction with pharmacist and providers, and other duties as assigned.
- Performs routine user-maintenance on automated dispensing machine and replenishes as necessary. Contacts customer service when needed to troubleshoot equipment errors.
- Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications to be dispensed according to allowable duties/tasks per Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. The technician will also avoid performing such duties that are prohibited by the Board.
- Participates in all staff meetings and in-service training.
- Work as a member of a team and provide excellent customer service to provide a high quality health care.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must have completed a high school education or G.E.D. equivalence. Previous pharmacy technician experience/license is preferred, but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Effective verbal and written skills required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Current Pharmacy Technician permit, preferred but not required.
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s license

- Must pass background investigations for suitability of character identified in accordance with the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
- Negative Annual TB testing results.
- Hepatitis A&B, Tdap, MMR and Varicella vaccinations, proof of previous vaccinations or proof of positive titer.
