Accounting at Rippling is responsible for supporting and communicating the financial story of Rippling. We assess, track and record every penny that Rippling transacts. Our diverse team consists of professionals spread across the United States, Europe and India, with more international locations coming soon. Over the last couple years, our team has grown exponentially to support a complex, multi-product company that operates globally.


About the role

After becoming one of the fastest growing startups in the United States, Rippling is ready to up level our growth engine to scale to $1B in ARR over the next couple years, including through international expansion and the addition of new products like Global Payroll, Employer of Record, and Spend Management. The EMEA region will be central to our efforts and we are looking for leaders to take our business to the next level.

Rippling has established Rippling Payments UK Limited (“Rippling UK”) for which it is authorised as an electronic money institution from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).  Rippling UK will be central in providing Payroll, Bill Pay, and related e-money products and services to customers in UK and abroad.


That’s where you come in. 

Rippling UK is seeking a Financial Controller. In this role, you will manage critical financial and treasury processes, including overseeing cash flows, liquidity management, forecasting safeguarding and compliance with regulatory capital requirements. You will work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping the financial strategy for Rippling International.

You must possess a wide range of accounting skills, be hands on, and possess demonstrable experience working in financial services firms. 

You will work closely with senior management and will need to be comfortable carrying out a wide range of accounting and treasury tasks.  You will also be responsible for supporting our ongoing  financial accounting processes and procedures and regulatory obligations.





What you will do

  • Lead the UK-based Accounting functions with the ability to define and implement an effective controllership framework for Rippling UK, consistent with Rippling Group standards, where appropriate;
  • Maximise the efficient use of resources to ensure ongoing business model viability;
  • Contribute towards the financial strategy, opportunities and growth of Rippling Payments UK; 
  • Own and manage Rippling UK financial processes and ensure all systems and controls are fit for purpose as the company evolves and grows in line with Rippling UK strategic objectives;
  • Have overall responsibility for the management accounts for Rippling UK including profit & loss, cashflow and balance sheets;
  • Monitor and manage daily cash flows to ensure optimal liquidity for the business.
  • Safeguard users' funds in compliance with regulatory authorizations and ensure adequate capital is maintained to meet business needs.
  • Develop and execute cash management strategies to optimise funding and treasury operations.
  • Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures for the function;
  • Identify and oversee financial controls  and adherence to financial procedures, carrying out regular reviews to ensure they remain effective;
  • Work closely and provide support to Rippling UK CEO and CFO, together will other senior stakeholders;
  • Keep Rippling UK CEO and CFO informed of all key finance reporting, activities and financial risks to the business.
  • Support global treasury operations as Rippling expands its products and presence internationally.




What you will need

  • 5-8 years experience in a similar role;
  • Experience delivering reports to senior stakeholders is essential;
  • Engages and communicates effectively with colleagues, investors, customers, suppliers, regulators, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Track-record of ensuring effective compliance and control and responding to regulatory developments, including financial reporting, capital requirements and corporate responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a complex global organisational environment;
  • Ability to work with multiple deadlines under pressure; and
  • Startup mindset- comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment
