As part of a front-line team, you will work as a StreetCare Operative alongside the Lead Operative, delivering grounds services and tasks to a high standard.
What you will be doing:- You will operate specialist equipment such as strimmer’s, hedge cutters, hand blowers, pole saw and other power tools for certain tasks, for which relevant training can be provided if required.
- In this varied role, you will undertake maintenance work including strimming, hedge cutting, clearing detritus from lanes and footpaths, general repairs to fencing and litter picking throughout South Gloucestershire.
- Regularly, you will carry out routine maintenance operations including heavy cutbacks and detritus clearance on roadside verges, footpaths and other areas.
- You will communicate with residents and give good, accurate advice and information and provide feedback to the lead operative and escalate to the supervisor as needed.
- We require you to have experience working in a ground’s role and be able to operate commercial professional grounds equipment such as strimmer’s, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers.
- It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence, preferably with experience of driving a long wheelbase transit style tipper and experience in a similar commercial or public sector role or have transferable skills.
- You must be able to follow instructions, read maps, and complete records accurately.
- It is essential that you have a good understanding of health and safety and the risks and hazards associated with the role.
- We require you to have working experience of face-to-face contact with the public, giving a high standard of customer care.
- You will be working from our Broad Lane Depot.
- Relevant training can be provided.
- Your uniform and equipment will be provided.
- We require you to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so you must have a full, valid driving licence.
