Winter 2026 Supplemental Course Lecturer Position

The Department of Philosophy is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Winter 2026. Please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and if applicable a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional.
PHIL 354-001 Plato (3 Credits - CAP 50)
An examination of some of the philosophical problems (those in logic, epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics, e.g.) found in a selection of Plato's dialogues.
Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Applicants must have completed a PhD degree or be enrolled in a doctoral program in Philosophy;
Applicants must provide evidence of highly effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught or worked as a teaching assistant in a similar course;
Applicants must have research specialization or competence into some of the major problems of philosophy. This may be demonstrated in one of the following ways: (i) refereed publications and/or conference presentations in the sub-field; (ii) thesis level research on one or more topics in the sub-field; (iii) prior experience successfully teaching this or a closely related course in the sub-field; or (iv) minimally, at least two graduate-level courses on topics in the sub-field.
Wednesday and Friday 02:35 pm-03:55 pm, January 5, 2026 – April 14, 2026. Location: LEA 14.
Salary: $11,479 per course.
