The Manager of Business Planning and Performance is a leadership role that combines strategic oversight, performance management, and governance expertise. This position focuses on managing and coaching a diverse team to drive organizational goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement. As a key member of the Department of Integrated Infrastructure Services, you will play a vital role in leading and mentoring professionals to achieve organizational goals.
You will be responsible for aligning departmental strategies with the City's overall objectives, developing policies, overseeing risk and compliance, and enhancing data governance.
What will you do?
Lead and manage a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Develop and implement departmental strategies and operational plans that align with the City's strategic goals.
Oversee performance management frameworks, ensuring effective measurement and continuous improvement.
Manage risk and compliance, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.
Enhance data governance and provide performance insights to support decision-making.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and integration of strategic plans.
Lead the deployment of the business mandate, including improvements and enhancements while providing leadership and support for implementation across the Branch
Provide strategy, advice, expertise and facilitation to departments, branches and sections in alignment with corporate strategy and planning
Utilize compelling visualizations showing performance and impact for decision-makers and stakeholder.
Developing reports and dashboards to ensure data is readily available
Organizational Change Management designation
Experience working in a unionized environment
Experience implementing complex program, process, and system changes

Excellent leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team-building skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
Proven planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skills.
Ability to build consensus, foster collaboration, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in computer software programs, including the Google Suite
Knowledge of project management principles and best practices.

Conditions of employment & work environment:
Up to: 1 temporary full-time position for up to 6 months
Hours of work: 36.9 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Salary: $54.859 - $68.573 (Hourly)
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and office
This position is eligible for the EDO program (Earned Day Off)
