The Enhancement and Assurance Administrator will deliver high-quality administrative support for learning and teaching within the School. The role focuses on quality assurance and enhancement activities, including:
 
•    Servicing learning and teaching committees to a professional standard.
•    Maintaining and updating the Business School’s Programme Information.
•    Supporting internal and external quality assurance processes.
•    Administering student feedback mechanisms.
•    Administering External Examiner recruitment.
•    Administering Student Academic Representative recruitment and servicing Staff-Student Panels.
 
In addition, the postholder will provide administrative support to the Pro-Dean for Education and Students, assisting with portfolio, programme, and process enhancements and initiatives.
 
The role works under the direction of the Enhancement and Assurance Manager as part of the Enhancement and Assurance Team, within the wider Education Services team in the Business School. This post is full-time (35 hours per week), advertised on a fixed term basis until 31 July 2026.

Salary: £28,031 - £31,236 per annum (Grade 4).

Job Description

Key Duties

•    Committee Support
    o    Organise and service the School’s Boards of Studies and the Education and Student Experience Committee: 
            Schedule meetings, book rooms, and circulate agendas and papers.
            Maintain accurate membership records for internal and external members.
            Ensure student representation by liaising with relevant colleagues.
            Take and produce accurate minutes within agreed timeframes.
            Track actions and report on progress.

•    Student Representation
    o    Under the direction of the Director of Student Experience, administer the School’s Student Academic Representative system: 
            Manage nominations and voting processes.
            Arrange Student/Staff panels and produce timely minutes.
            Maintain a log of actions taken in response to feedback.

•    Systems and Data
    o    Manage and update key systems, including: 
            Programme information in SIMS (Student Information Management System).
            Online module feedback.
            Internal databases to support enhancement and assurance activities.

•    External Examiner Administration
    o    Coordinate the nomination, appointment, and onboarding of external examiners.
    o    Administer and co-ordinate the response to and return of external examiner reports.   

•    Quality Assurance and Enhancement
    o    Support internal and external quality assurance processes, including programme reviews and accreditation activities.
    o    Assist the Pro-Dean for Education and Students and Programme Directors with documentation and reporting requirements.

•    Collaboration and Advice
    o    Work with colleagues to improve processes and share best practice.

•    Provide detailed professional advice and guidance on internal and external quality assurance and enhancement processes and mechanisms using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action, contributing to the resolution of more complex issues.

•    Establish working relationships with key contacts to improve service levels. Develop communication links with University schools, colleges, directorates, and external bodies as required.

7.    Evidence of ability to explore customers’ needs and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service is delivered.

8.    Evidence of ability to solve problems using initiative and creativity; identify and propose practical solutions and to resolve problems where there are a range of potential options available.
9.    Evidence of ability to analyse processes and procedures, and advise on improvements

Desirable Criteria 

1.    Degree or an equivalent qualification or equivalent work-related experience.
