MIGA’s mission is to promote foreign direct investment into developing countries, and it houses the WBG Guarantee Platform (WBG-GP), which brings together products and experts from IBRD, IDA, IFC, and MIGA for simplicity, efficiency, and speed.
The WBG-GP serves as a one-stop shop for all WBG guarantee business, providing the best guarantee solutions for clients to meet project needs and development priorities through three types of coverages: credit guarantees for loans to the public or private sector; trade finance guarantees for trade finance projects involving public entities; and political risk insurance against non-commercial risks for private sector projects or public-private partnerships.
About the Role
MIGA Finance and Risk Management Group (MIGFR) is responsible for ensuring the Agency’s financial integrity, income sustainability, risk management, reinsurance and data analytics.
As MIGA embarks on an ambitious program in the context of the WBG-GP, the need for robust and timely information to aid decision-making has never been greater. MIGFR is seeking to recruit a Finance Analyst, based in Chennai, India, who will play a crucial role in supporting the data analytics function-related activities.
Duties and Accountabilities
Key responsibilities will include:
• Generating detailed guarantee exposure reports, providing accurate and timely information on exposures, and trends.
• Preparing monthly reconciliations of guarantee portfolio exposure data.
• Assisting the team in collecting key data metrics relating to the guarantee portfolio.
• Supporting the team with the update and maintenance of various exposure dashboards and business intelligence systems.
• Contributing to the design, business requirement development, analytical tools building and testing of the related IT system enhancements.
• Staying up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends in business analysis and analytics, incorporating relevant insights into MIGA’s framework.
Selection Criteria
• Master’s degree (e.g., in accounting, finance, data science or related field) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Query, Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, other data visualization and presentation tools and software and aptitude to learn new apps, systems and databases is a must.
• Demonstrated ability to visualize data for effective storytelling.
• Excellent organizational, administrative and time management skills with proven ability to work independently, promptly and efficiently under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with colleagues at all levels.
• Strong team player and demonstrated track record on delivering assigned work program.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to think independently, analyze problems and identify appropriate solutions.
• Commitment to maintain the highest ethical standards.
