We have an exciting for a Supply Chain Analyst Intern in our Merriam, KS office. In this exciting role, the Supply Chain Analyst Intern will gain knowledge and training in Seaboard Foods’ fresh pork processing specifically within the analytics & data of the supply chain operations while receiving overviews in other areas of supply chain and plant operations.   Trainees will receive management, departmental, and leadership training necessary to prepare them for a scheduling, analytics, or other supply chain focused role within Seaboard Foods. The role of accountability will be in the corporate office in the Kansas City metro area.  Trainees are expected to travel frequently to work with our Plant Operations Team in Guymon, OK.   Upon completion of the training period, analytics trainees will be prepared for a role of accountability in transportation, scheduling, supply chain or analytics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate on cross functional projects between supply chain, sales, operations, FP&A and BD&A.
  • Analyze data to identify areas of opportunity and maximize profitability across all aspects of operations.
  • Provide training on the use of Excel and Tableau reports.
  • Ad hoc reporting for all areas of the supply chain as needed.
  • Support internal or customer projects aimed at reducing unallocated inventory and improving quality, pricing, shortages, overages, shipping or any other related opportunities.
  • Coordinates the analysis of operational information by collecting and summarizing data using Microsoft software (Excel and Access specifically), Tableau and SQL Server.
  • Develops and implements enhancements to new and existing databases or reports and other systems within Production Operations and support departments.
  • Analyze data to understand the relationships of weights and yields among different product lines.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to engineering, business analytics, business administration, accounting, finance, agriculture economics or agriculture business. 1+ year of experience preferred.
  • Advance in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in Word and PowerPoint, with experience using a Business Intelligence Software.
  • IBM AS400 and Tableau and SQL Management Studio preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in SQL &/or Python preferred.
