We are looking for a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in process optimization, data analysis, and continuous improvement within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support the engineering team in the following areas:
1. Process Documentation & Standardization
- Create or update work instructions, SOPs, and process flow diagrams.
- Assist in documenting assembly procedures and quality checks.
2. Data Collection & Analysis
- Gather production data (cycle times, scrap rates, downtime).
- Perform basic statistical analysis to identify trends or bottlenecks.
- Support root cause analysis for defects or inefficiencies.
3. Continuous Improvement Projects
- Participate in Kaizen events or Lean initiatives.
- Suggest improvements for workflow, ergonomics, or material handling.
- Help implement 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
4. CAD & Design Support
- Update or create tooling drawings and fixtures using CAD software.
- Assist in designing jigs or assembly aids.
5. Quality & Compliance
- Support quality audits and inspection processes.
- Help maintain compliance with ISO standards or company-specific requirements.
6. Production Support
- Troubleshoot minor issues on the shop floor under supervision.
- Coordinate with operators to ensure process adherence.
7. Reporting & Communication
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on production metrics.
- Communicate findings and improvement ideas to engineers and supervisors.
8. Training & Documentation
- Assist in creating training materials for operators.
- Document new processes introduced during projects.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
