The Opportunity

Firefly Engineering is building the next generation of AI-native creative experiences across Adobe. We operate like a fast-moving startup inside Adobe—rapid iterations, bold bets, and obsessively high product quality. Our charter is to bring innovative generative AI and advanced language model capabilities directly into the hands of millions of creators.

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer who can design and build delightful, AI-powered experiences from end-to-end. You’ll work across UI, backend, and AI orchestration layers—connecting Firefly models, LLMs, and creative tooling into seamless, high-impact customer workflows.

This role sits at the intersection of creativity, engineering craftsmanship, and applied AI.

Impact You’ll Make

You thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and can take a feature from concept to production. You will help define how users interact with Firefly-powered capabilities across surfaces—whether that’s crafting elegant UI components, building robust backend services, or integrating with advanced generative models.

Your work will directly shape the future of generative creativity across broader Firefly ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build world-class, performant, and scalable UI/UX experiences using React, TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices that orchestrate LLM, and creative workflows end-to-end.
  • Integrate directly with Adobe’s AI stack — 1P models, LLMs, prompt engineering flows, embeddings, vector stores, and orchestration layers.
  • Prototype, experiment, and iterate quickly with features powered by artificial intelligence to validate experiences and accelerate product innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Applied Scientists, ML Engineers, and Designers to ship intelligent, user-centric features.
  • Uphold engineering excellence: performance, reliability, observability, accessibility, and secure-by-default design.
  • Raise the bar on quality through code reviews, test automation, and technical mentorship within the team.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience building and shipping high-quality web applications at scale.
  • Deep proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, and at least one additional backend language.
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI/LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, 1P & 3P APIs, Azure/OpenAI Service, etc.) including prompt engineering and system integration.
  • Strong UI/UX sensibility and ability to craft polished, intuitive user interfaces.
  • Solid experience building, scaling, and operating REST or GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience with cloud-native development, microservices, containers, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Strong foundation in system design, modern architecture patterns, and engineering guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, product sense, and the ability to work cross-functionally across design, PM, and AI/ML engineering.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with RAG systems, embeddings, fine-tuning, or multimodal AI workflows.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, feature stores, or model-serving infrastructure.
  • Experience building creative tooling, visualization systems, or real-time rendering interfaces.
  • Contributions to open-source, engineering communities, or public technical content.
