About the team
You will be an integral part of the Global Technology Platforms (GTP) team at IDC, where you will play a key role in building, enhancing, and maintaining platforms that empower Walmart’s developer community. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing new features, ensuring platform reliability, and driving product stability to meet the evolving needs of our engineers. By focusing on scalability, performance, and intuitive user experiences, you will directly contribute to improving developer productivity and efficiency. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless solutions, proactively resolve issues, and continuously optimize workflows. Ultimately, your work will have a direct impact on shaping the productivity tools and developer experience at Walmart, enabling thousands of engineers to innovate faster and deliver high-quality solutions to millions of customers.
What You’ll Do:
We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Engineer- Full Stack who is passionate about building scalable, high-performing, and resilient platform solutions. In this role, you will act as a product-focused engineer, experimenting with new ideas, delivering engaging platform capabilities, and collaborating across global teams to strengthen Walmart’s technology ecosystem.

- Act as a product-focused full stack engineer, contributing to platform design, innovation, and delivery.
- Build scalable and distributed systems using modern frameworks and cloud-native architectures.
- Design, develop, and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices with a strong emphasis on performance, security, and reliability.
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve business-critical issues and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to share best practices and influence platform direction.
- Provide production support, including troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving live issues to maintain system availability.
- Implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, and alerting for production systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, UX, and DevOps) to deliver high-quality, user-centric solutions.
What You’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with 9+ years of experience .
- Strong proficiency in Spring Boot (REST APIs, dependency injection, configuration management).
- Expertise in Java / J2EE, with deep understanding of JVM internals, concurrency, and multithreading.
- Experience with Spring Data JPA / Hibernate, ORM optimization, and database transaction management.
- Proficient in PostgreSQL, query tuning, indexing, and caching strategies (Redis, Ehcache).
- Hands-on with microservices architecture, inter-service communication (REST, gRPC, messaging).
- Experience implementing security mechanisms (Spring Security, OAuth2, JWT).
- Knowledge of Kafka / RabbitMQ for event-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with Liquibase/Flyway for database migrations.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
- Strong foundation in React.js (hooks, component lifecycle, context API).
- State management expertise with Redux / Redux Toolkit.
- Solid JavaScript (ES6+) / TypeScript skills.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI frameworks (Material-UI, Ant Design, Tailwind).
- API integration experience using REST or GraphQL.
- Experience with performance optimization (memorization, lazy loading, code splitting).
- Strong computer science fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
- Familiarity with cloud-based application development (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks.
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch and Python is an added advantage.
- Exposure to production support operations including incident response, triaging, and resolution.
- Advanced certifications in Cloud, DevOps, or Full Stack technologies (preferred).
