Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled TCR (Telemetry, Command and Ranging) Support Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the operational availability of satellite control ground facilities dedicated to Eutelsat's fleet of GEO satellites. In this position, you’ll work closely with the SCC (Satellite Control Centre) operators, the staff at distant TCR sites and the software/systems/network engineers, contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives.
You will be also involved in LEO projects and operations. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.
Who You Are:
You are an engineer or have a five-year degree (or equivalent). You have at least five-year experience in Satellite communications, Monitoring and Control (M&C) software systems installation, operation and maintenance. You also have experience in RF/IF (Radio Frequency/Intermediate Frequency) and baseband equipment.
You are as interested in TCR solution engineering as you are in the implementation, daily monitoring and support of these solutions.
What You’ll Do:
You will be responsible for engineering activities.
• Participate in engineering activities related to the identification and selection of technical solutions for monitoring and controlling locally and remotely the antenna systems, RF and baseband equipment as well as frequency distribution systems.
• Participate in the implementation and qualification of new equipment.
• Lead M&C software systems deployment projects for the control centre's needs, in France and abroad.
• Write technical documentation. Write and validate operating procedures.
You will also be required to perform operational tasks.
• Follow-up and solve operational problems with respect to TCR equipment and associated monitoring systems.
• Provide on-call service as part of the operational teams, one week per month on average, telephone support or assistance on site (Issy-les-Moulineaux) if required.
• Carry out assistance and technical expertise missions in this area both internally and to TCR contractors.
What You’ll Need:
•Sound experience with M&C software systems for satellite control station equipment
• Sound knowledge of TCR baseband systems and technical standards (ECSS, CCSDS)
• Good knowledge of antenna and RF systems
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and good knowledge of French language
Where You’ll Work:
You will be based in France, at the headquarters in Issy-les-Moulineaux. As the GEO satellite control network is isolated for security reasons, you will mainly work on site.
As part of the TCR and Earth Station Engineering Department, you will frequently collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers and network engineers. Your work will give you an understanding of the needs of the operational teams (controllers, satellite engineers and orbital calculation specialists).
You will be required to be on call for thirteen weeks per year in order to keep the TCR GEO satellite control systems operational.
Travel to foreign sites may be required for the purpose of implementing or replacing M&C and baseband systems used in satellite control.
