We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Global Export Control Officer to join the legal team based in our Headquarters in Cham, ZG.
In this global role, you will ensure full compliance with export controls and sanctions regulations across all jurisdictions where Landis+Gyr operates.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, International Economics, Trade Law, or related field.
- Proven track record in managing international compliance projects within a corporate environment, preferably in a publicly traded company.
- Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of international export and sanctions regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with sanctioned party and embargo screenings against lists such as UN, EU, UK, SECO, US BIS & OFAC.
- High competency in EU, US, UK, and Swiss sanctions regimes and compliance enforcement trends.
- Technical skills:
- Knowledge of the EAR (US Export Administration Regulations) and dual-use goods regulations.
- Familiarity with SAP/GTS export compliance module.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain global compliance framework: Create and manage export controls, sanctions procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with regulatory developments and company strategy.
- Oversee compliance operations: Manage transactional screenings, sanctioned party checks, goods classification, and due diligence for projects in embargoed regions.
- Distribute quarterly compliance bulletins, arrange staff training, and act as the global point of contact for export and sanctions compliance.
- Work closely with regional teams and internal stakeholders (Legal, Sales, Logistics, etc.) to review regulatory requirements and support business decisions.
- Represent the company in compliance matters with authorities and associations, and ensure adherence to customs regulations, including FTAs, tariff classification, and export licensing.
