The Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT department at the UAH is offering an exciting opportunity to Nuclear Medicine Technologists to become a vital member of our team. The NM/PET supervisor role is responsible for the day to day operations and supervision of both the Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT departments. Key roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to providing leadership to the interdisciplinary team of NMTs, Physicians, RNs, LPNs, Admin Support, and Service Workers, ensuring completion of orientation, education and training for all staff, maintaining and adjusting booking schedules as needed, scheduling all NMTs, payroll, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures and supporting the NM Manager with operational planning. This role will provide a fantastic opportunity to develop many different valuable skills such as leadership, time management, conflict management, project planning, and regulation compliance. The successful candidate may be assigned On Call coverage, and must be able to meet both the technical demands and the physical demands of the position which includes but is not limited to NM and PET/CT scanning including diagnostic CTs, transporting patients, transferring patients, and handling and wearing lead for radiation protection.

Description:

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) II, you will be responsible for performing the duties of clinical coordination, monitoring care, evaluation and staff supervision or is the radiation and laser safety officer. As a NMT II, you will be the senior technologist responsible for leading, organizing and directing all technical and daily work activities. You will ensure that the service provided is effective, efficient and of the highest standard. You will also participate in ensuring consistent workload distribution and productivity standards and procedures are followed.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) program.Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum three year experience working in an acute care hospital performing SPECT/CT, PET/CT, clinical trials, student preceptorship, and diagnostic CTs in the Nuclear Medicine setting. Leadership and/or project management experience. ACMDTT enhanced practice license for CT and Contrast Media for Nuclear Medicine Technologists. Basic life support certification. Class 7 TDG certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Health Canada Division 5 Training, Good Clinical Practice Training, iSTAT and Glucometer Training, and completed AHS ROL.
