Description
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing HR support to the entire bank staff and handling the HR administrative functions. Specific responsibilities include recruitment, compensation, performance management, employee relations and HR policies and procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Direct the recruiting and selection of employees; determines qualifications for open positions; sources internal and external applicants; fills open positions within expected timeframes. Provides employees with a comprehensive and welcoming orientation.
· Manage the annual performance review process.
· Coordinate with Iowa Bankers on payroll and benefits administration, including pay changes, terminations, new hires, annual enrollment communication, etc.
· Create and maintain job descriptions for all employees.
· Participate in various salary surveys. Create salary ranges and grades for all positions. Makes recommendations to the President & CEO.
· Manage unemployment claims and worker’s compensation claims/reporting.
· Provide employee relations counseling to employees in matters of conflict resolution, disciplinary action and other employee concerns.
· Conduct exit interviews and share findings with President & CEO.
· Plan and execute annual company training day.
· Periodically review and update employee handbook.
· Maintain current knowledge of industry regulations, requirements and trends by attending seminars, member associations and researching trends.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
· A minimum of five years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in community banking but not required.
· SHRM-CP or PHR preferred but not required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Knowledge of state and Federal laws.
· Must be able to travel to all branches as needed.
· Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, time management.
· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure at times.
