POSITION SUMMARY

Asphalt Green seeks a dynamic and results-oriented leader to serve as the Senior Director of Strategic Program Initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, this role is responsible for driving operational excellence and program impact across all competitive athletics and youth development initiatives. The Senior Director will serve as a connector, integrator, and executor—building systems that translate strategy into action, strengthen alignment across teams, and ensure Asphalt Green’s programs deliver consistent, measurable results.

 

Serving as a trusted strategic thought partner to the Chief Program Officer, this senior-level leader will drive performance standards that advance both mission impact and business success, positioning Asphalt Green as a model of excellence. This role has responsibilities across the Asphalt Green organization which will require travel to various locations. This role is in-person 3-4 days/week with opportunities for remote work 1-2 days/week.

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Excellence

  • Partner with the Chief Program Officer to strengthen systems, processes, and performance standards that drive consistency, efficiency, and accountability across all program areas.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that optimize workflows, streamline operations, and build sustainable infrastructure to support program delivery.
  • Develop and maintain tools, dashboards, and communication systems to track priorities, monitor performance, and ensure timely execution of deliverables.
  • Build alignment across program, operations, and finance teams to support effective planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement, ensuring that operational practices are scalable and aligned with organizational goals.

 

Program Impact & Outcomes

  • Collaborate with program leaders to translate strategic goals into actionable workplans with clear success metrics and accountability structures.
  • Support the design and implementation of outcome-driven evaluation systems that measure program quality, participant experience, and mission impact.
  • Analyze program data and insights to inform decision-making, shape strategy, and drive performance improvements across the organization.
  • Partner with Communications and Development to elevate program visibility and impact stories through data-informed reporting and storytelling.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration where teams are empowered to innovate, deliver high-quality programming, and achieve measurable results.

 

 

Leadership, Alignment & Organizational Learning

  • Serve as a key advisor and strategic partner to the Chief Program Officer, helping to translate vision and goals into operational plans, performance measures, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Build alignment among program and operational leaders by establishing shared priorities, clear communication channels, and consistent decision-making practices.
  • Partner with the Data team to assess performance, identify trends, and drive learning cycles that inform continuous improvement and strategic planning.
  • Lead reflection and planning processes across the Programs division to assess progress, celebrate successes, and identify opportunities for innovation or course correction.
  • Develop leadership capacity within the Programs team through coaching, collaboration, and modeling of effective management practices.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, inclusion, and excellence—ensuring that organizational values are consistently reflected in programs, partnerships, and team dynamics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in program operations, organizational strategy, or performance management within sports, education, or youth-serving organizations.
  • Proven success leading strategic initiatives from concept through execution—developing systems, tracking progress, and achieving cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead without direct authority through trust, credibility, and strong communication.
  • Experience building and managing systems that improve efficiency, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
