Additional Information: Show/Hide Salina High School Central Media & Student Center Administrative Assistant Purpose Statement: The job of Media and Student Center Administrative is done for the purpose/s of supporting the library media center as well as the student center's needs at Salina High School Central; providing clerical support to the library media specialist and counseling department chair. Essential Functions: Daily Duties: Morning supervision of library/coffee bar area. Supervision of students in library. Chromebook work orders for student and teacher repairs. Help students in library find materials. Maintaining library equipment records. Pick up mail--process periodicals and Inter-library loans. Maintain attendance records for annual report and Performance Diploma Based Programs. Keep records of sub-laptops. Performs record-keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, faxing, filing, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the coordinators in providing necessary records/materials.
Weekly Duties:
Check collaborative Google printers for toner and jams Add new students to library information system: i.e. Destiny Withdraw students from library information system Turn in details of lost book and financial obligations to financial administrative assistant Generate End of the Week Reports: Run over-dues and send letters to all students with 2nd week of overdue materials Repair books and damaged materials Grade library shelves and keep records of library aides Mondays Reports: Email teachers and attendance a list of which library aides will be working ELO Wednesdays: Track Performance Based Diploma Progress. Send progress reports to counselors. Bi-Weekly: Generate Progress Reports by labeling, sorting, mailing reports. Stock counseling workroom with paper.
Monthly Duties:
Withdraw library materials Assist preparing for library programming events Testing proctor (as needed) Check holds in library information system Add attendance data for students and classes (for annual report) Run report and record circulation stats for all library materials Collect time sheets and put in mailboxes for credit recovery program.
End of Quarter Duties:
Process all new library materials (approximately 100+ books) Two days each quarter (at the end of the quarter: run performance based diploma grade reports Send completion letter and non-completion letters Make counseling phone calls before each parent-teacher conference (fall and spring) to make sure families attend
Other Functions:
Other duties as assigned Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: planning and managing projects; operating standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: concepts of grammar and punctuation; and accounting/bookkeeping principles

Responsibility Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; providing information and/or advising others; and tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the Organization's services.
Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations.
