We're seeking someone to join our team as a Business Analyst in Investment Management Operations to support strategic transformation by partnering with Platform Owners, business leadership and key support partners in defining and implementing the Future State Target Operating Model.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Director level position within the Change, Analytics & Strategy, which is responsible for developing operating and technology strategies, managing and executing transformation initiatives, leading Agile fleet activities, driving innovation, developing analytics solutions and delivering business outcomes.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Undertake business analysis activities such as impact/gap analysis, business requirement gathering, use case documentation, process re-engineering, testing and TOM (Target Operating Model) design.
  • Lead the design and implementation of automation solutions across IM Operations
  • Execute complex processes and assist a Team Manager in coordinating processes, risks and/or projects in a Team Lead capacity
  • Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and leverage detailed knowledge to propose changes in process
  • Train others, allocate tasks and support with first line escalation where required
  • Share expert knowledge across the team, contribute to team output and development, building relationships across the Firm

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of functional area and operational/compliance policies and procedures of their team
  • Ability to operate independently with respect to some job responsibilities
  • Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values
  • Understanding of core business analysis techniques such as design thinking, process documentation, user story documentation, functional specifications
  • Ability to understand and document complex business processes
  • Experience in process optimization and familiarity with technology development/testing (SDLC)
  • Skilled in managing work queues and ensuring timely delivery of project commitments while driving transformation initiatives
  • Ability to proactively recognize operational risks and propose actionable solutions
  • Experience using Generative AI, Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI), and Robotic Process Automation platforms (e.g., UiPath) to drive business transformation, process optimization, and operational efficiency
  • At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $82,000 and $133,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
