Your role and responsibilities
On a daily basis you will be providing second line support to users of the council’s technology collaboration tools, such as SharePoint Online, working on projects both individually and as part of a small team and actively developing solutions using the products available to us. You will need to be comfortable conversing with and supporting people of varying technical skills.
Resolve SharePoint support issues for customers.
Combining the, predominantly Microsoft, products available to us to create innovative and effective solutions.
Lead on a major project to move content from local network shares to SharePoint Online.
You will need
Experience working in an operational support role with various line of business systems.
A positive attitude to work and technology alongside a thirst for development.
Excellent customer service skills including patience and the ability to converse in plain English without using jargon.
The confidence to share your ideas with colleagues to improve outcomes.
Experience using the Microsoft suite of Office products. Experience of Azure based systems would be a benefit but is not essential.
You will be joining a small team where you can thrive and grow whilst developing your skills. Experience of SharePoint would be a benefit but is not a necessity. If you enjoy working with technology, have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a desire to create solutions which surpass expectations, this role could be right for you. You will be given the support and training you need plus time to develop your skills in the way that suits you best alongside structured training.

The team
The IT Service, as part of the Corporate Services directorate, provides and supports Suffolk County Council’s technology requirements. You will be working alongside experts in network, server, storage, applications, devices, cyber security and first line support. The IT Service supports colleagues across the organisation to get the most from their technology provision within a flexible working environment.
