We have an immediate opening for an Airframe/Design Engineer for the Engineering Department—Langley, BC. This position will be based out of the Langley facility and will report to the Director, Engineering. The key area of responsibility for this position is to ensure ongoing engineering support to Business Units in supporting WIP and STC development.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Systems integration including preparing drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Creating and amending maintenance of documents such as aircraft ICAs, ELA’s, FMS’, Major Modification reports, Safety Assessments and engineering reports.
Handle special process engineering audit, both internal and external.
Inducting and leading First Article Activities for new repairs. Provide guidance and support for shops for first article activities, and prepare report for approval.
Preparation of certification documents including Structural Substantiation Reports, Repair Reports, Test Plans, etc.
Reviewing drawing of other engineers and organizing technical documents.
Ensuring compliance with civil and military regulatory specifications and creating corresponding statements of compliance.
Act as a liaison engineer between multiple production departments.
Preparing estimates of technical documents for the purpose of aircraft customization quotes.
Miscellaneous projects on an as-needed basis.
Applicable qualifications, attributes and competencies are:
Degree/Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical or Material Engineering
Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare detailed technical reports and specifications.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills as demonstrated in previous work experience.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations / US Federal Aviation Regulations.
Understanding of general Project Management and Systems Engineering as applied to design stages of a project.
Hands-on aircraft experience an asset.
General knowledge of aircraft manufacturing processes is an asset.
